Carin Barth

Carin Barth is co-founder and President of LB Capital Inc., a private equity firm established in 1988, that focuses its investments in the energy and financial services industries. In addition to serving as Chair and Director of The Welch Foundation board, she is also a Director of the Enterprise Holdings LLC, General Partner of Enterprise Products Partners L.P., Black Stone Minerals, L.P. and Group 1 Automotive, Inc. boards. Additionally, Mrs. Barth serves as a Ronald McDonald House of Houston board member. She previously served as Chairman of the Investment Advisory Committee for the Endowment at Texas Tech University (2012 – 2018), a Commissioner of the Texas Department of Public Safety (2008-2014), a director of the Texas Public Finance Authority (2006-2008), and as a member of the Texas Tech University System Board of Regents (1999-2005).

Mrs. Barth was appointed by President George W. Bush to serve as Chief Financial Officer of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development from 2004-2005. In recognition of her business and civic involvements, she received the NACD Directorship 100 Award, the University of Alabama - Culverhouse Alumni Outstanding Achievement Award, and an Honorary Doctorate Award from Texas Tech University. Mrs. Barth received a B.S. from the University of Alabama, summa cum laude, and an M.B.A. from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management.
